Expo Aviation Dubai has entered into a Joint Venture Agreement with the Lufthansa Charter Division in Dubai to operate a Single IL76 Freighter, commencing 20th January 2009.  The leased 40 Ton Russian built IL76 Freighter will operate on behalf of both Carriers out of Dubai and Sharjah Airports to regional destinations, mainly Iraq and Afghanistan.

It is envisaged that this will grow into a five aircraft operation in the near future, with periodic fleet increases achieved by adding one freighter every three months.  This joint venture with Lufthansa has once again paved the way for Expo Aviation to strengthen its presence in the region.

This partnership presents important synergies for both Companies. ExpoAir, a regional Charter operator for over 7 years, has professional experience in owning and operating Russian Freighters while Lufthansa charter has a global network mainly based in the United States and European Union, where the most of the cargo to Iraq and Afghanistan originates.

This Joint venture will create new business opportunities by attracting major global Special Contractors who only work with credible and reliable operators such as ExpoAir and Lufthansa who are specialized in handling outsized cargo, especially when it comes to Special Operations where security and safety are of paramount importance.

Expo Aviation signed an Agreement in late 2008 with the national carrier of Sri Lanka, where ExpoAir offers a blocked space Cargo capacity exclusively to Sri Lankan Airlines to carry their Cargo to selected destinations in India on a weekly basis.

An aircraft exclusively dedicated for this Operation ensures an uninterrupted, dedicated and professional Service which has once again paved way for Expo Aviation to make its mark internationally. It is made sure by ExpoAir to keep to the times and operate flights on schedule.

This Joint Venture has helped SriLankan airlines maintain an uninterrupted Service to their Customers with the additional flexibility of changing routes, cargo capacity & flight schedules on prior Agreement with ExpoAir.
